Melissa Taddie
Cleveland-born violinist Melissa Taddie enjoys a burgeoning career as a violinist in the Boston area. In addition to her current scholarship at the Boston Conservatory, previous honors include receiving the “Best Classical Soloist” prize for the DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards and the “Audience Favorite” award for the White Lake Festival Solo Competition.
Melissa made her solo debut with the Western Michigan University Symphony Orchestra, and has since performed regularly with the Boston Conservatory orchestra and the Battle Creek and Southwest symphonies. In addition, she has single-handedly organized several of her own recitals to benefit local charities.
Melissa began her violin studies in the fifth grade through her elementary school music program, and received private lessons as an eleventh birthday present. Previous teachers include Renata Knific, David Updegraff, and Julian Ross. She is currently pursuing a professional studies certificate at the Boston Conservatory under the tutelage of Markus Placci.
Melissa also teaches young violinists through various after-school programs in Boston. In her spare time, she enjoys crossword puzzles and taking walks in fresh air!
