Sixteen-year-old Katie Kim has been playing the flute for six years and is a senior at Torrance High School. Most recently, Katie has advanced to the finals of the Music Teachers National Association Competition, held in Texas, as the first place winner of both the California State MTNA Competition and the Southwest Division MTNA Competition. Besides music, Katie enjoys art. Her artwork was featured in the "Creativity Corner" of the LA Times and she was a winner of the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
