Angela Gigi Tsang, 16, began piano studies at age five and violin studies at age eight. Currently, she studies piano with Dorothy Su and studies violin and chamber music with Meichuan Song. Angela received numerous awards in piano from the Fremont Symphony Young Artist Competition, MTAC Piano Concerto and Solo Competition, SF Chopin Competition, USIMC, USOMC, American Protégé Concerto Competition, ENKOR, GCC, CAPMT Honors Competition, Junior Bach Festival, CM Panel Honors, and etc. An avid chamber player, Angela’s groups won prizes from the ENKOR Chamber Competition, GCC Chamber Competition, Santa Cruz Baroque Festival Chamber Music Competition, Junior Bach Festival, and etc. Angela is the concertmaster of the BAYMS Orchestra and has served as concertmaster of the CODA Honor String Orchestra, CASMEC All-State String Orchestra, and ECYS Sinfonietta Orchestra. Performing biweekly at senior centers as a member of the Bay Area Youth Music Society, Angela has received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award six years in a row. Besides music, she enjoys reading, travelling, hiking, and tennis.
