Alexander Norris is 12 years old and a 7th grader at Cab Calloway School of the Arts. He started oboe at age 9, studying with Elizabeth Stevens. At the same time, Alex started oboe at school and played in the school band.
At school, Alexander plays oboe in the Symphonic band under the direction of Dr. Carlton Cannon. During the past summer, Alexander played in the Summer Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Fred Geiersbach at St. Andrew's School.
Besides oboe, Alexander began viola in the fourth grade and plays in the school orchestra. In his free time, he enjoys ice skating, Tai Kwon do, swimming, teaching himself piano, and exploring the world of science.
Alexander is grateful to his oboe teacher Mrs. Elizabeth Stevens, and his family for their support of his musical endeavors.
