The Appalachian Trio formed in the summer of 2017 under the direction of concert pianist Dr. Marina Lupinacci is comprised of three members from the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra (PYSO). Each member is passionate about classical music, has accomplished several music accolades and appeared as soloist with various orchestras.

William Wang has been awarded the opportunities to perform Pablo de Sarasate's Violin Duet Navarra with his teacher Ms. Mead with the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra in 2015, and the Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto with the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Philharmonic Orchestra after winning the Concerto Competitions in 2015 and 2016 respectively. William also served as concert master when he joined PYSO. In addition to music, William is an avid basketball player.

Chris Fedor has accomplished numerous music awards throughout his young career as a soloist and a chamber musician. Chris won the 2018 Pittsburgh Philharmonic Concerto Competition performing the Dvorak cello concerto, was named a finalist in the 2018 Duquesne Young Artist National Competition, received three awards with the Pittsburgh Concert Society in 2016 and 2017 (chamber and solo cello), and traveled to Texas in November 2016 as a member of the All-National Honors Symphony. He sits as principal in many of PYSO’s concerts. Outside of music, Chris's many passions include the sciences, chess, and baseball.

Enoch Hsiao has won the 2018 Butler County Symphony Young Artist Competition performing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. In 2017, he was the winner of the PYSO concerto competition playing Franz Liszt Piano Concerto No. 2 in Pittsburgh’s Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts. Enoch is also an accomplished violinist and has earned the role of concertmaster in PYSO. In Enoch’s spare time, he enjoys gaming and has won the US title and placed second in the world in Clash Royale.
