Anja Pustaver
Anja Pustaver is completing her B.M. in Vocal Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point under the tutelage of Dr. Matthew Markham, and will begin her studies toward a M.M in Vocal Performance this fall.
A member of the Madison Opera Chorus she has appeared in productions of La Cerentola, La Fille du Regiment and Opera in the Park; she has also appeared as a fairy in the Brevard Music Institute’s production of Falstaff.
Her roles have included Suor Angelica in Puccini “Suor Angelica”, Cassie the Dating Coordinator in “Speed Dating Tonight”, the Sandman in Humperdincks “Hansel and Gretel”, Belinda in Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” and Pamina in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflote”.
Anja was a winner of the Mirabelle Schloss Vocal Competition in Salzburg, and the Alice Peet Faust Concerto and Aria Competition. She has been awarded First Place at the National Finals of the National Association of Music Teachers in 2014 and 2016, and received a merit award at the National Young Artist Vocal Finals of the MTNA competition. She has had the privilege of working with with Renee Fleming, Barbara Bonney, W. Stephen Smith and Warren Jones in masterclasses.
