Sarah Evenson has lived in San Francisco her whole life. She is a 2017 graduate of the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts where she was the principal clarinetist for three years. She has also performed with the Peninsula Youth Orchestra and the San Francisco State University Wind Ensemble. As a concerto competition winner, she performed Debussy's Premiere Rhapsodie with her school's orchestra. She has received six Command Performance ratings at the CMEA Solo/Ensemble Festival. This summer she is attending the John Adams Young Composers Program. Her primary teacher is Lynne Funkhouser. In the fall of 2017 she will be attending University of California, Santa Barbara.
