Young Jin Lee, a freshman at Gunn High School, is currently a student of Mr. Christopher Costanza. He started playing the cello since he was eight years old, and joined ECYS when he was in the fourth grade and became principal cellist of Galbraith Honor Strings and Sinfonietta of ECYS. He also performed twice as soloist, accompanied by orchestras in ECYS: Intermediate Summer Chamber Orchestra and Camerata Orchestra. Since the summer of 2016, he has been a member of a small chamber ensemble that accompanies a choir at his church during Sunday service. As the cellist of the Topaz Trio, he performs at retirement homes several times throughout the year. In school, he is currently the principal cellist of the G period Gunn High School Orchestra and the co-principal cellist of the Gunn High School Chamber Orchestra.
