Christopher Ye is fifteen years old and in the 9th grade at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. He has been a District Winner and was the First Place Trophy Winner for solo piano in the MMTA State Piano Competition in 2016. In 2016 Christopher was also the 3rd Place Winner in Division 2 of the SIUE Young Pianist Competition. Later in the year, he attended the ""Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Summer Camp"", Bloomington, on a partial piano scholarship. Most recently, Christopher was a winner of the First Annual MBU Concerto Competition, performing Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 2, I. Andante Sostenuto, with the combined orchestras of MBU/SCC. Christopher also auditioned to play piano for the Ladue High Strolling Strings and was accepted as the ""Strolling Strings Pianist"". He also plays violin and is in the Ladue High School Symphonic Orchestra. Besides music, he enjoys studying other forms of art and science. Christopher studies piano with Laura Schindler of Richmond Heights. He is the son of Fang Xie and Wei Ye of Olivette.
