David Tobin (21) is currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. He has collaborated with many orchestras at home and abroad, including performances with the Sinfonieorchester Aachen in 2014 and with the New York Concerti Sinfonietta at Carnegie Hall this year.
He has performed as a soloist in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the USA, and has won prizes at international competitions in Estonia, France and Romania.
He made his debut as a soloist with orchestra when he was only 10 years old and had already performed in the Auditorium of Ireland's National Concert Hall by the age of 11. He has given numerous full recitals in the National Concert Hall, as well as in various festivals and venues across Ireland. He is also the most successful violinist in the history of the Feis Ceoil, Ireland's premier national competition.
