Sophie Naden-Johns
Sophie began learning the cello at age 4. She learned from Priscilla Jones until the age of 11 when she transferred to Rajan Krishnaswami in Seattle. Sophie studied with Rajan for two years until she moved to Walla Walla, Washington to study with Sally Singer Tuttle. Sophie has competed in the Seattle Young Artist competition four times, between 2013 and 2016. She has received a Special Recognition two years in a row for her performances in that competition. She plays a cello on loan from the Carlson Foundation in Seattle. She participated in the Seattle Suzuki Institute Music Festival for three years in a row. Two years ago Sophie participated in the Oxford Cello Summer School. This summer she will participate in the Marrowstone Music Festival.
