Michelle Riechers


Michelle Riechers is a senior B.M. in Trumpet Performance and B.A. in Economics at Illinois Wesleyan University. During her time at Illinois Wesleyan, she has performed with the Illinois Wesleyan Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Opera Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, brass quintet, and other various chamber music ensembles. She has served as principal trumpet of the Illinois Wesleyan Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble since 2013.

She was featured as a soloist with the Illinois Wesleyan Symphony Orchestra in 2016 and the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra in 2011. In May of 2013, she attended the International Chamber Music Festival in Kyustendil, Bulgaria, where she studied and performed chamber music throughout the country. Michelle has also performed with the Classical Symphony Orchestra of Chicago and the Brass Band of Central Illinois, as well as in productions by Prairie Fire Theater and Miller Park Summer Theater. Michelle’s primary teachers include Jennifer Brown, Steven Eggleston, Leah Schuman, and Brian Reichenbach.

Following graduation, she will attend the University of Michigan to earn her M.M. in Trumpet Performance where she will study under William Campbell.
