Joseph earned his B.M. in performance at The University of Carolina at Charlotte, and earned a formal recognition as an "Outstanding Performer" by the department of music faculty upon graduation. He has studied classical guitar at UNC Pembroke and UNC Charlotte with professors Derek Day and Charles Vaughn.
