Honor Frisco (violin)


 Honor Frisco began piano studies at the age of five and violin studies at the age of six. From a young age, he received multiple awards from various competitions including state winner of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers Contemporary Music Festival, silver medalist at the Southern California Junior Bach Festival Complete Works, and multiple first prizes from the Southwestern Youth Music Festival. Honor has studied both piano and violin at the Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles and served as concertmaster of the Colburn String Ensemble and the Palos Verdes School District Advanced Ensemble. Most recently for piano, Honor was selected as a winner of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) prestigious 2020 Artist of the Future Competition, was awarded Second Prize in the American Protege International Competition of Romantic Music 2020, and was a First Prize Winner of the Great Composers Series Artist of the Year 2020 competition. Most recently for violin, Honor was chosen as a regional winner of the MTAC VOCE competition as part of a violin duet and advanced to the California State Finals where he received Third Prize. He also was chosen as the First Prize Winner (Intermediate Category) of the American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music 2020, and will perform in the winners recital at Carnegie Hall next December. Honor currently studies piano with Ms. Esther Keel and violin with Mr. Elmer Su.
