Clarice Kwan
Clarice Kwan, age 17, is a senior at Arcadia High School in Arcadia, California. She began her piano studies at the age of 5 and is currently studying with Professor Bernadene Blaha of USC. Her career goal is to be a concert pianist and a private music teacher. She has received numerous awards in various piano competitions such as Southwestern Youth Music Festival, CAPMT Romantic/Impressionistic Festival, and the Southern California Junior Bach Festival Complete Works Audition. She has performed at the 2015 Music Teachers’ Association of California State Convention in the Panel Honors Recital and has appeared as soloist with the Pasadena Summer Youth Chamber Orchestra. Besides playing piano, Clarice is a passionate violinist and a member of Arcadia High School’s most advanced orchestra. Along with her rigorous schedule, she has found time to be an active leader of Music Coach for Youth, a volunteer organization which coaches middle school orchestra students to play music and hopes to involve more in music outreach projects in the future.
