Jaeyee Jung, a junior at Enloe High School, NC, has been studying violin since age seven with Rebekah Binford, NC Symphony Assistant Concertmaster, ret.. This year, Jaeyee was selected as a finalist for the Peter Perret Concerto Competition. In 2021, Jaeyee won the Triangle Youth Philharmonic Concerto Competition and performed with the orchestra. In 2020, she won second place in the Chapel Hill Philharmonia Young Artist Concerto Competition, and in 2019, she won first place in the NC Bach Festival Young Artists Concerto Competition.
From school ensembles to regional orchestras, Jaeyee has been performing in orchestras for eight years. She is currently the Co-Concertmaster of Triangle Youth Philharmonic and Concertmaster of the Enloe Symphony Orchestra. This past summer, she was the Concertmaster of NYO2 2021.
Jaeyee is an active chamber musician through the North Carolina Chamber Music Institute. In 2021, her piano trio placed in the semifinal round of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. In 2020, her ensemble won first place in the UofSC Chamber Music Competition.
Jaeyee is a volunteer performer for Sunday services at First Korean Baptist Church and used to play with the virtual choir at the Highland United Methodist Church. In addition to violin, she enjoys playing the piano and dancing ballet.
