Melody Zhou, 16, from Los Angeles, California, began piano study at the age of seven. She is the first place winner of the 2020 MTAC Pasadena Keyboard Theme Festival. She also passed the MTAC CM exam with honors in the advanced level. In Apr.2021, she won the Third Prize in Best Prokofiev Performance. She participated in 2021 Northern Lights Piano Festival and won Silver Award in the French Composer Class, Bronze Prize in the Russian Composer Class and Bronze Prize in the Chopin Class.
Besides piano, Melody also plays Pipa, flute, and enjoys reading books. She is a member of her school band and is a cross-country runner. She speaks Chinese, English, and Japanese, and is an active volunteer at her local library.
Melody’s dream is to be a stage pianist. Like her name, she wishes to share beautiful melodies with everyone and to bring people happiness through the magic of music.
