Karen Matsui, age 11, is a 5th grader at Valley Christian School in San Jose, CA. She began piano at age 5 and currently studies with
Miyuki Otani. She won 3rd places at US Open Music Competition in 2019, 3rd place at United Stars Music Competition in 2021,
Honorable Mentions at USIMC and Bay Area Music Competition in 2020.
She is also an avid improviser, creating musical stories for more than 10 minutes long on the spot.
Besides piano, she also enjoys Cello.
