Valerie Chen, a 14yrs old, started playing the violin at the age of eight. Since then, she has participated in various competitions and recitals. She has won awards in the Satori String Competition, the Southwest Bach Festival, the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, A Antelope Valley Bach Competitions, Lansum International Competition, Southern California Junior Bach Festival and MTAC VOCE competitions . She also received a scholarship award from WGStill Art Center’s Young Artists Competition. She had an opportunity to have a masterclass with Movses Pogossian. Recently, she had an opportunity to perform with Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra as a soloist. She is also member of Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, California All State Orchestra and California All Southern Orchestra.
In her spare time, she likes reading and playing with her dog.
