In 2017 Shigeo was a Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Award recipient and in 2019 he was a RCM National Gold Medalist in violin. He was Assistant Principal for second violins in the Colburn String Ensemble during the 2019-2020 school year until the pandemic shut things down. Shigeo is active in Boy Scouts, loves reading Japanese manga, drawing pictures and trying to play music by ear. He is now 12 years old and continuing his violin studies with Ms. Cheryl Scheidemantle in Pasadena, California.
