Roger Guo, age eleven, is currently a student of John McCarthy. He began his piano studies at age six with Kate Metcalf and has also studied with Daniel Cheng.
In 2019, Roger was named first prize winner in the Chopin Category in the Hong Kong International Music Competition for Young Pianists, and performed in a Masterclass for Gabriel Kwok. Additionally, he was a top prize winner in several categories in the 28th Annual United States Open Music Competition and was also selected to perform at the 67th Annual Junior Bach Festival Concert in Spring 2020.
In addition to the piano, Roger also plays the cello and enjoys painting, reading and writing his own stories. He currently attends the Crystal Spring Uplands School in Hillsborough CA.
