Rebecca Liu

 


Rebecca Liu is a junior at University High School in Irvine, California. Since her father inspired her interest in music, she began to study music at age 4. She was the first-place winner of 2013 Composers Today State Contest and the national first-place winner of 2014 MTNA Composition Competition. Rebecca performed in 2015 at the Yamaha U.S. National Junior Original Concert, and, in 2016, she performed at the JOC at Winter NAMM. She received first place in piano in the 2016 Musical Arts Competition of Orange County. She is a first violin section member in Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra. In 2018, she went on a Costa Rica Tour with Santiago Strings. She was the first-place winner of 2019 and 2020 Satori Violin Contest. In 2019, she attained the CM Level Advanced State Honors for piano and the CM Panel Honors for violin. Moreover, she won third place in 2019 MTAC Composers Today State Contest and was presented at the winners’ recital at MTAC State Convention. Since last year, she has been granted membership in MTAC Young Composers Guild, which is the highest achievement that a composition student in high school can attain. She is also involved with her church worship team and Stream of Praise Music Ministries. Rebecca enjoys swimming and performing at various events with the Young Musicians Ensemble, where she serves as the president.
