Rachel Wresh

 


American soprano Rachel Wresh is a Junior Vocal Performance Major at Texas Woman's University. She currently holds a 4.0 GPA and studies under Jeffrey Tarr, baritone. Rachel placed first-chair soprano in the Texas All-State "Small School Mixed Choir" for four consecutive years. She is a four time State Solo and Ensemble division 1 recipient and in 2019, she received the award of Outstanding Soloist. Previously, in 2014, she was the first to officially ask the Melissa ISD School Board for a choir program. She addressed the board and sang in open session; the choir program was initiated the following year. Furthermore, Rachel placed Second Runner-Up in her division at the 2019 DFW NATS spring competition. Also in 2019, she was recognized by TMEA and DSM (Dallas Summer Musicals) as a scholarship recipient. Rachel was cast as Laetitia in TWU’s 2020 production of “The Old Maid and the Thief” and is an officer in the top Concert Choir. Rachel has been singing at her local church for over 5 years under the direction of former UNT Professor, David Cloutier. Rachel is currently looking for a graduate program to pursue in the Fall of 2022.
