Peggy Yin

 


Peggy is a New York State School Music Association all-state vocalist and flautist. She has been studying voice and flute for more than 8 years. She attended Manhattan School of Music (MSM) Precollege Voice Program, Stony Brook University Young Artist program and New York Metropolitan Youth Orchestra in addition to her school choir and band every year since elementary school. She's sung solos at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and other major stages.

Over the past two years, Peggy has taken first place in multiple international competitions including American Protégé International Voice Competition, International Music Competition Grand Prize Virtuoso, ""Golden Classical Music Awards"" International Competition and New York Concert Festival International competition.

Peggy also enjoys composing her own music. She premiered her own composition for octet in Manhattan School of Music Student Composers' Concert.

Peggy is Youth Ambassador for Concerts in Motion and she has been performing and emceeing many live virtual concerts to socially isolated seniors. As an active promoter of music in her communities, she also volunteers in Tri-M Music Honor Society, charity fundraising, youth summer music camps, and concert stage crews, to name a few. She has been awarded the Presidential Service Award annually since 6th grade. She is a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist (finalist TBD).
