Formed during pandemic lockdown, the KATT quartet has worked hard together to blend and hone their group sound over zoom, outdoors, and from behind facemasks. They have found new ways to rehearse together virtually and overcome the challenges of communicating masked and distanced. Named for members Katarina, Alexander, Tina, and Tristen, the group came together under the auspices of the North Carolina Chamber Music Institute during the summer of 2020, and have performed several pieces both outdoors and virtually. The quartet's excellent coaches Kirsten Jerme and Anton Shelepov have helped KATT overcome all the challenges of 2020 and make beautiful music together.
