Kathryn Loutzenheiser

Kathryn Loutzenheiser, from Southern California, has always been a music lover and interested in various classical periods and other genres. She began her cello lessons at seven years old and is self-taught in piano. Since Kathryn was young, she has watched classical concerts attentively and enjoyed identifying orchestra instruments by ear.

As a cello soloist, Kathryn was chosen as a First-Place Winner by American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music in 2020 and set to perform at the Winners Recital in Carnegie Hall. In 2018 and 2019 she received the First-Place Awards at Southwestern Youth Music Festival (SYMF) and performed at the Winners Recital.

In 2019 she was the youngest of four cellists selected from her music school to play at a masterclass instructed by a renowned guest cellist.

After the school talent show, peers and faculty sought her out to express being impressed and inspired by her cello performances.

Another important part of her life is playing sports. She also enjoys reading, comedy, and everything about cats.
