Devon Chang is a freshman at Beckman High school in Irvine, California. He started playing violin at age 7. Devon currently studies violin with Ms. Eunhee Kim. For 3 consecutive years, he has been a member of the first violin section of the award winning Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, which performs its annual concert series in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. His musical achievements include several first place finishes at the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, the Satori Summer Music Festival, and the MTAC-OC Concerto. He has also won a second place award in The American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music. He has also won an honorable mention in the California State American String Teachers Association-LA. Devon also plays piano competitively. He obtained the Certificate of Merit level 10 for piano when he was in 6th grade. Outside of music, he enjoys playing basketball, swimming, and programming.
