Crystal Cheng, age 14, is a scholarship student of John McCarthy in the Pre-College Division at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, She was accepted by 2020 Curtis Summerfest Young Artist Program. She also attended the John Perry Academy during 2019 and 2018 summer.
She has performed in Taiwan and has appeared in New York’s Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. She was invited to perform at 2019 and 2020 Northern California Junior Bach Festival.
Crystal has received numerous awards as a pianist, including top prizes in Lancaster International Piano competition, Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition, Pacific Music Society Competition, Enkor International Piano Competition, the American Protégé International Piano Competition, US Open Music Competition, CAPMT Honors Competition, and the Thera Rabinowitch Competition.
Crystal is a 9th grader at Monta Vista High School in Cupertino. She enjoys reading, writing, and playing cello in the string orchestra at her school.
