Catherine (Cathy) Cho, born in Seoul, South Korea, is a junior at Phillips Academy Andover. She started playing the violin since she was 5 and has been actively involved in various orchestras and ensembles ever since. One notable experience is when she was invited to play in the Berlin Philharmoniker with concertmaster Andreas Buschatz in 2015. Currently, she is a member of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the concertmaster of her school orchestra. In July of 2020, Cathy placed 2nd in the Grandprize Virtuoso Competition and was invited to play at the Wiener Saal, Mozarteum. In October of 2020, she placed 1st in the Great Composers Competition's Art of Strings competition. Aside from playing the violin, she enjoys playing squash, virtual investing, coding, and math.
