Amy Boedigheimer is a student in her third year at Central Washington University (CWU) studying Trumpet Performance and Instrumental Music Education. She has had a passion for music since she began playing trumpet in 2010 and has continued to work exceptionally hard at her craft as a performer. At CWU, Amy studies trumpet under the instruction of Professor John Harbaugh and has had the pleasure of performing in several CWU ensembles including the Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Jazz Band II & III, Jazz Combo, Trumpet Quintet, and Brass Quintet. In addition to her experience performing in the ensembles at CWU, Amy’s hard work and dedication has provided her with the opportunity to perform with ensembles outside of the University including the North Portland “NoPo” Big Band, the Washington Ambassadors of Music, and the Portland Youth Jazz Orchestra. Her determination as a performer has also given her a competitive edge. Amy is honored to have been recognized as the 2020 Young Artist Concerto Competition Winner for the Inland Northwest Musicians Competition in Hermiston, OR, as well as perform as a featured trumpet soloist at the Ten Grands Piano Concert at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, WA in 2018. She also had the honor of performing in the CWU Trumpet Quintet that was invited to compete at the National Trumpet Competition at Messiah College in 2020. These achievements would not have been possible without the love and support of her family, as well as her incredible teachers: Bruce Dunn, Phillip Scamahorn, Jay Cobb, Paul Mazzio, Robbie Rutherford, and John Harbaugh.
