Xin Quan


Born in Xi’an, China in 2002, Xin Quan began to learn violin with his father at the age of 5 and got instructions from Professor Qihua Li at Xi’an Conservatory of Music. In 2012, he became a student of Professor Hui Jin, the famous Chinese violinist and faculty member at China Conservatory of Music, and two years later he was admitted to the middle school affiliated to the conservatory. In 2018 he passed the pre-screening and audition of the Pre-college of The Juilliard School, and enrolled in the violin program under the tutelage of Laurie Smukler. In fall 2020 he will become a college student of Juilliard. 

The competition awards he has won include Gold Award in Hong Kong International String Competition, Third Place in The Forbidden City International Violin Competition, First Prize in Shaanxi Chunya Cup Violin Competition, and First Place in Shaanxi Instruments Competition Violin Section.
