Yifan Li is an eighth grader at Robert Frost Middle School. She started to learn piano at age of five and later chose flute as her second instrument. Yifan has won several awards in piano competitions such as the Viola Hartman Piano Performance Awards, the Maryland Spring Solo Festival and the Miriam Shields Gottlieb Memorial Piano Competition. She is the first chair in the flute section of her school’s advanced band. In 2019 she was selected to play in both all-state and all-county junior bands. She also plays flute and piccolo in the Young Artists Orchestra at MCYO (Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra).
