Sarah Serena Thompson, 13, attends the University of Nebraska High School and began studying piano, voice and theatre when she was four. She has had the honor of singing a musical theatre selection at the American Protégé International Competition’s concert at Carnegie Hall in New York and has been invited to sing in the classical category when the venue reopens. She has also been invited to play piano at Carnegie Hall for the Little Mozart’s Winners Concert. She has completed her Grade 5 Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and theory exams and Grade 4 voice with distinctions. ABRSM has recognized her as Georgia’s overall highest scorer for Grade 4. Additionally, Sarah Serena has competed in the Atlanta Music Teachers Association’s Romantic Impressionists competition, earning an Outstanding Performer award for the last 3 years, and superior ratings from National Guild of Piano Teachers’ auditions the last 5 years. She also has performed in numerous professional and community theatre productions, with favorite roles including Madeline in Madeline’s Christmas, Ballet Girl in Billy Elliot, Susan in Miracle on 34th Street, Young Bonnie in Bonnie and Clyde. She studies ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, Irish and contemporary dance. She is a student of Dr. Adriana Janse van Rensburg.
