Roxbury Latin Trio
The Roxbury Latin Trio consists of three students at the Roxbury LatinSchool who are award-winning musicians from the Boston area: David Heschel Liebowitz, piano; Alex Yin, violin; and Justin Shaw, cello. Coached by composer Howard Frazin and music director Rob Opdycke, David, Alex, and Justin have been performing together since 2019. Scheduled to perform again in the spring semester of 2020, long before the COVID-19 pandemic imposed a complete halt to chamber music practicing and performing, the Roxbury Latin Trio moved forward with their practicing and performing anyway – through their own self-supervised remote testing and sharing of audio and video recordings. In April 2020, the 375-year old Roxbury Latin School hosted it’s first-ever virtual Recital, with the Roxbury Latin Trio performing the second movement of Schubert’s E flat major Piano Trio.
