Honor Frisco


Honor Frisco recently turned fifteen and lives in Palos Verdes Estates, California. He began his piano studies at the age of five and quickly became an accomplished young pianist. From an early age, he has garnered multiple awards from various competitions including the first prize state winner of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) Contemporary Music Festival, silver medalist at the Southern California Junior Bach Festival Complete Works (SCJBF), and multiple first prizes from the Southwestern Youth Music Festival (SYMF). Honor has been recognized as a Top Talent National Winner in the National Playing Auditions from the National Guild of Piano Teachers. In 2017, Honor received first prize in the Orange County Music Teacher’s Association of California (MTAC) Piano Solo Competition and was awarded third prize in the CAPMT Sonata-Sonatina Festival. Most recently, he was selected as a winner of the 2020 MTAC Artists of the Future Competition and as a result has been invited to be a featured soloist with the Beach Cities Symphony a concert this fall.

In addition to piano, Honor is an accomplished violinist and has won the bronze medal for the SCJBF Complete Works competition, first prize in the MTAC Scholarship Auditions, and first prize in two open categories at SYMF. He recently participated in the prestigious MTAC VOCE competition and was selected as a violin duet winner and will advance to the 2020 California state finals. Honor has been the concertmaster of the Palos Verdes School District Advanced String Ensemble and the Colburn String Ensemble. He is currently a member of the Palos Verdes Regional Symphony Orchestra.
