Amelia Baisden
Amelia is a 9-year-old cellist who started taking lessons at the age of three. She is currently studying with Maxfield Wollam-Fisher at Levine Music in Washington DC, where she is a Rising Stars scholarship recipient. Amelia has received several competition prizes, including most recently the 1st place in the Aspiring Cellist category as well as the Misbin Family New Talent Award at the 49th Annual Joseph and Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition. She currently serves as principal in the Debut Orchestra with American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras and performed with AYPO’s String Ensemble as the 2020 American String Teachers Association Orchestra Festival, where they were awarded the Middle School Grand Champion prize. In addition to her solo and orchestral activities, she enjoys collaborating with her string trio and performing with them at senior assisted living facilities and community centers around the DC area. Amelia is looking forward to participating at the Interlochen Junior Advanced Strings program this summer in Michigan.
