Simon Minami, 17, started his musical journey at age 6 with classical guitar then cello at age 9. He is a student of Jonathan Koh. Simon has been awarded high honors in multiple competitions including 1st place in USOMC, DVC/HNU, KAMSA, MTAC VOCE SF, and Prima Volta Music Competition. He is also an avid chamber musician, studying at the California Music Preparatory Academy where his piano trio advanced to the 2020 Galante Competition semifinals. Simon continues to pursue classical guitar performance, and his latest project is transcribing contemporary pieces and syncing cello and guitar music.
