My musical and double bass studies began in middle school in orchestra class with Mr. Menendez and private instruction from Mr. Estrella, a college student of Dr. George Amorim. I participated in All-Region and All-State (2015-2017) throughout my middle and high school years. I’ve also been a participant of the ¡Viva El Bajo! South Texas Double Bass Symposium from 2013 to the present and have had the honor of working with and met masters of the instrument such as Francesco Petracchi, Jeff Bradetich, Barry Green, James VanDemark, Thierry Barbe, Joel Quarrington, Andres Martin and Dennis Whittaker among others. The summer of 2018, I participated in Vancouver Orchestra’s Institute at Whistler under the baton of Bramwell Tovey and Jonathan Girard as he conducted in the University of British Columbia’s Chamber Orchestra Festival. This past summer, I participated in Round Top’s Festival Institute and, for the second time, the Aruba Symhpony Festival in Oranjestad, Aruba. I recently gained a section bass position in the Valley Symphony Orchestra and currently sub for the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra. I’ve also recently been waitlisted for a full session in the Aspen Music Festival.
