Eunchong Kang
Eunchong Kang is a lyric soprano from Seoul, South Korea. Her repertoires include Gilda (Rigoletto), Susanna(Le Nozze di Figaro), Juliette(Romeo et Juliette), and Liu(Turandot).
During her undergraduate years, she performed in numerous concerts held for brilliant students at her college. She was also chosen for an outstanding young artist by Win Art Hall and able to hold a duo recital there with financial support. In New York City, she performed as a partial role of Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Gilda (Rigoletto) with New York Lyric Opera at Carnegie Weil Recital Hall.
She participated in Mozarteum Summer Festival, Austria, and also has attended masterclasses with renowned musicians including Nadine Sierra, Hartmut Höll, and Jeff Cohen.
The recipient of an Ilju Foundation Scholarship, Miss Kang earned her Bachelor’s of Music Degree in Voice from Ewha Womans University under the teaching of Jihwa Shin. She also minored German Literature with a fervent passion for understanding and analyzing lyrics in music. Currently, she came to New York last summer as a candidate for M.M. degree at Mannes School of Music / The New School where she expects to graduate in 2020. She is a pupil of Beth Robert and also learns from Peiwen Chen.
