Annika Joshi
Annika Joshi, an 8th grader, is a pianist and composer. She has been studying piano since the age of five. She is a classically trained pianist, currently under the tutelage of Yulia Soboleva from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. Annika is passionate about composing and creates original scores and works with Terry Lowry, an American composer with over 200 published works.
Annika made her debut in Carnegie Hall in November 2019 as a Second Place Winner in the Golden Classical International Music Competition. She won First Place in the Great Composer Series for Best Mozart Performance in 2020 and Second Place for Best Chopin Performance. She has also participated in various Festivals in the Atlanta area, achieving the highest grade designation.
Her original music compositions have won CSO Young Composer Competition 5 times, earning her the opportunity to orchestrate them for the Carroll Symphony Orchestra (CSO). Her works have premiered at the “Sounds of Liberty” concert (a 4th of July concert in West Georgia, with over 10,000 attendees) and have been broadcast live on B-92 Country and KISS 102.7 radio stations. Her work, “Blue Grotto” was premiered at the Maurice Townsend Center for the Performing Arts holiday concert. Annika is a two time winner of the MTNA Music Composition Competition and has represented Georgia in the Southern division.
Annika performs for residents in senior living centers. She is a regular at Sunrise of Johns Creek, Ivy Hall Assisted Living and Ashwood Meadows Gracious retirement living.
Annika also enjoys robotics and was on an all-girls robotics team that went to the LEGO FLL World Championships, where her team placed in the Projects category. Her team, Techno Wizards, was featured in a Georgia PBS documentary titled “Chasing the Moon”.
