Betty Boyi Wu


Pianist Betty Wu, born in 1998, began piano lessons at the age of six and has met with recognition in competitions and festivals since her teenage years. Betty made her piano concerto debut in South Korea with the Seoul Youth Orchestra under the baton of Irish conductor, Shane O'Shea in 2013. She has performed in numerous concert halls across Asia, including Grand Theatre in Busan, South Korea, The Steinway Hall in Seoul, South Korea, Oriental Art Centre in Shanghai, Huafa Grand Theare in Zhuhai, China etc.

Betty has won prizes at several national and international competitions, including first prizes at the Taiwan-Asia Pacific International Music Competition and the Hong-Kong International Piano Competition in 2014. She has achieved Distinction in both ABRSM Piano Performance Diploma and Teaching Diploma. Betty was awarded Top in Asia and Fourth in the World in A-Level Music by CIE in 2016. Most recent achievements including 3rd Prize at Springboard Piano Concerto competition and Youth Pianist Contract Award at the 2019 GOCAA (Global Outstanding Chinese Artists Association) International Piano Competition.

Betty is currently studying at the Royal College of Music, London for Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance with Professor Nigel Clayton. She has performed in varies venues across the UK, including the Westminster Cathedral Hall and Royal Festival Hall in London.
