Jacey Crayton


Jacey Crayton is a 19-year-old sophomore flute performance major attending West Virginia University, studying with Nina Assimakopoulos. Jacey’s past teachers include Nathan Sanders, Molly Shortridge, and Jocelyn Goranson. Jacey has participated in many ensembles and chamber groups at WVU, including the WVU Symphony Orchestra, a chamber duo with harpist Verena Zaisberger, the Aether Flute Quartet, and was principal flute of the WVU Wind Symphony. Jacey has participated in several competitions and masterclasses and won the 2018 Harrisburg Youth Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, where she performed the third movement of the Reinecke Flute Concerto. In the summer of 2017, Jacey attended the WVU International Symposium and performed in a masterclass for Alberto Almarza from Carnegie Mellon. Jacey is also looking forward to perform in a masterclass for Nicole Esposito at the WVU IFS 2019 festival. Outside of music, Jacey enjoys spending time with her cat Cheza and hanging out with friends.
