Donald Rabin


Donald Rabin is currently a first year graduate student at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, under the instruction of Sarah Brady. As an active flutist, Donald’s dedication and determination has led him to substitute roles in several orchestras. He is currently a flutist in the Berklee Film Score Orchestra, and has subbed with the Brookline Symphony Orchestra, the New England Philharmonic Orchestra, the Boston Civic Orchestra, the Freisinger Symphony, the Missouri Symphony, and the Cartago Band of Costa Rica. Donald has also performed as principal flute of PMA National Sinfonia Winds, CBDNA Intercollegiate Band, and Missouri All-Collegiate Orchestra.

Among his performance interests, he has won several competitions including: National Finalist and First Prize St. Louis Winner of the National Society of Arts and Letters Competition, Third Prize Winner of the ENKOR International Competition, Grand Prize Winner of the Virtuoso Competition in Rome, Italy, Semi-Finalist for the Naftzger Advanced Musician Competition, Grand Prize Winner SAI Scholarship Competition, Alternate State Representative for the Missouri MTNA competition, Honorable Mention for the Missouri MMTA competition, winner of the Truman State Gold Medal Concerto Competition, Wind Symphony Concerto Competition and second place winner of the Southern Illinois Young Artist Competition. Donald holds his undergraduate degree in Music Performance from Truman State University where he was the 2018 Presser Scholar. His talent and abilities would not be possible without his family: Joseph and Haydee Rabin, and his teachers: Mark Sparks, Dr. Julianna Moore, Jennifer Nitchman, Jan Smith, and Sarah Brady.
