Alyssa Kim
Alyssa Kim began violin at the age of eight and is studying under the instruction of Lya Stern. She has been a member of the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras (AYPO) for six years and is currently the co-concertmaster of their most advanced group, the American Youth Philharmonic (AYP). She is a founding member of the “Back to Bach” Project Northern Virginia Region, a global initiative to inspire music and arts education to young children, and to teach them the value of hard work and passion. In addition to ranking top five for regional and state orchestras, she attended Virginia’s Residential Governor’s School for the Visual and Performing Arts at Radford University this past summer, where she was the concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra. She was also selected to perform violin with internationally recognized musical group, The Piano Guys, at the National Theatre in Washington D.C. in 2017.
