Aleena Li, 17, from Overland Park, Kansas, began piano lessons at age four and continues her piano study under Ms. Ying-Yu Emily Yeh. Aleena Li has received several awards in many competitions and festivals including been chosen as a Third Place Winner of the American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition 2013. She was also awarded 2nd prize by the Great Composers International Competition-Best Chopin Performance Competition and The Music of Northern Europe Competition in 2017. In 2015, Aleena was chosen as Top Ten Outstanding Winners from Sigma Alpha Iota Junior High Music Auditions in Lawrence, KS. She was named the first place winner in KMTA State Honors Competitions in 2012 and the second place in 2013. She also received the Highest Honors with Special Merit in KCMTA Fall Festival several times. She loves drawing, and helping patients in her communities by raising fund with her music.
