The Hwang Duo is comprised of Annie and Tiffany Hwang, who are currently juniors at Lynbrook High School in San Jose, California. Most recently, they were awarded second place in Showcase Duet at the 2018 United States Open Music Competition. In 2016, they were the Grand Prize Winners in the MTAC Ensemble Competition, and in 2014, they won first in Showcase Duet and second in Open Duet at the United States Open Music Competition.
Besides piano, both participate in other music organizations. Annie is a flutist with the California Philharmonic Youth Symphony, while Tiffany, who plays clarinet, is a member of the California Youth Symphony. Both believe in helping others through music and are active members of their school’s Music for the Community, where they perform at senior centers and teach the basics of music to children.
In her spare time, Tiffany enjoys reading good books and birdwatching. Annie prefers socializing and spending time with friends.
