Katherine Wong


Katherine Wong, age 15, is a sophomore student at Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) in California, USA. Katherine is a passionate musician who began playing the piano at the age of 6, and she currently studies with Dr. Judy Huang. Katherine won the Panel Honors award in the MTAC Certificate of Merit Program in 2019. Additionally, Katherine is a first place winner of the 2019 American Fine Art Festival ( AFAF), the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition, the 2018 eMuse Competition Greece, and the 2018 International Rome Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition. She is also a prize winner in a number of other competitions including the International Grande Music Competition (2018), Music Teacher Association California (MTAC) State Solo Competition (2018), Rising Stars Grand Prix International Music Competition Berlin (2018), American Fine Arts Festival, Arts Festival’s Golden Era of Romantic Music International Competition, Southwestern Youth Music Festival, International Music Festival’s Debut International Piano Competition, Santori Young Pianist Contest, James Ramos International Video Competition (JRIVC), and Diamond Bar Performing Arts Challenge. Katherine made her debut at the Lincoln Center at the age of 8 and was invited back to perform at the Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall at the age of 9. 11.13 and 15. Katherine also enjoys playing the chamber music and is a part of the Junior Chamber Music (JCM) as an honor group. Her ensemble group won first place in the VOCE regional competition . They also won third place in the 2018 ENKOR Chamber Music Competition.
