Jared Maucotel
Jared Maucotel began violin at the age of 4 with the help of his mother. He always had a love of performing, especially the romantic repertoire, and by age 15, he determined to make violin his career. Learning from great teachers like Simon James, Jan Coleman, and Hiro David, he was accepted to study Violin Performance at the University of Texas at Austin where he studies with Professor Brian Lewis. He has performed in Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Kansas, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Mexico, and Italy, including a concerto performance with orchestra in Fairbanks. He has studied with many prestigious artists such as David Kim, Giora Schmidt, and Philippe Quint. Maucotel is the third place Senior Division winner of the Simon-Fiset Violin Competition, and the first prizewinner of the international Masters of Concerto Competition. He plays on a 1909 Silvestre et Maucotel Violin from Paris, France.
