Jared Maucotel began violin at the age of 4 with the help of his mother. He always had a love of performing, especially the romantic repertoire, and by age 15, he determined to make violin his career. Learning from great teachers like Simon James, Jan Coleman, and Hiro David. He graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance at the University of Texas at Austin studying under Professor Brian Lewis. In Fall of 2020, he began his Masters degree in Violin Performance at the University of Texas at Austin, Studying with Sandy Yamamoto. He has performed in Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Kansas, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Mexico, and Italy, including a concerto performance with orchestra in Fairbanks. He has studied with many prestigious artists such as David Kim, Giora Schmidt, and Philippe Quint. Maucotel is the third place Senior Division winner of the Simon-Fiset Violin Competition, and the first prizewinner of the international Masters of Concerto Competition. He placed 2nd place in the international American ProtegĂ© Violin Competition and has been invited to perform in Carnegie Hall in Summer of 2021. He plays on a 1909 Silvestre et Maucotel Violin from Paris, France.
