Yen Yu Agnes Chu


Agnes is now pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Music from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in vocal music under the tutelage of Ms Margaret Yim. She has obtained DipABRSM Diploma in Voice and is an award-winner and scholarship recipient for outstanding music performances and music creativity. Recently, she has been awarded K. Wah International Vocal Scholarship for Undergraduate Studies offered by Opera Hong Kong.

With passion in teaching, she is now an instructor and course coordinator in Hong Kong Treble Choir, and had coached in choirs from her Alma Mater, St. Stephen's Girls' College. She has received choral conducting training from Mr Patrick Chiu during her Undergraduate studies.

As a singer, she participated in vocal masterclasses from Gong Dong-jian, Jessica McCormack, Klaus and Helen Donath, and had received vocal training from Italian Soprano, Norma Fantini at Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella in Naples during 2017 Summer. She has appeared as Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia opera scene project during her undergraduate studies under the supervision of Ms Carmen Koon and project director Ms Juni Ng; and has interpreted Cherubino from Le Nozze di Figaro in Maurizio’s Opera Production Competition in Italy in 2017 Summer, under the guidance of Maurizio di Mattia and Maurizio Colasanti.

With active participation in the music circle, Agnes has performed in various countries including Canada, Italy, Russia and Finland. She has been member of Aqua Voice, a chamber choir from the department of music in CUHK, and Bel Canto Singer's Ensemble.
