Lina Elwood


Lina, age 10, has been studying the piano since she was 5 years old under the guidance of Kumiko Imamura. She has won many top prizes in both local and international competitions, including Second Prize at Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, CT, First Place at the Connecticut Bach Festival Competition, First Prize for the Best Debussy Performance of the Great Composers Competition, First Prize in the French Impressionist Category of the Schubert Club Awards Competition, First Prize at Glory International Baroque Music Competition, Second Prize at Future Stars International Piano Competition and Gold Award at the Golden Key Music Festival which she performed at the Carnegie Hall. Most recently, Lina was selected as a Special Award Winner for the third consecutive year at the 35th Annual Deborah Kahan Competition held by the Connecticut State Music Teachers Association. Lina was also selected to perform for masterclasses at Suzuki Association of the Americas’ Biennial National Conference in Minneapolis in May 2018 and May 2020. In addition to her solo performances, Lina has played concerto works with professional orchestras and chamber music groups.
